A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Grenache & Dolcetto. It is one of Australia's finest Rose's with lovely summer pudding fruit overlaying the delicious bite of acidity that the Docetto gives it.
Turkey Flat is owned by Chrissie and Peter Schultz. Peter has often told me that this is one of the more difficult wines to make well, as you have to keep a close eye on the fermentation tanks to make sure you have the right balance of colour extraction and fruit. Then the skill comes in blending the different grape varieties to get a harmonious finished product.
The unusual name of the property comes from the Great White Bustards that use to roam the area and were known as ‘Australian Turkeys’.
