Champagne is a wine where brand loyalty is very strong which is a good thing and equally a bad thing as consumers often feel reluctant to try anything than the top brands which is a shame particularly when small houses such as Lallier are producing such fabulous wines as this one.

Vintage Champagne is the expression of a given year in this case 2005, each vintage is different but houses only release a vintage cuvee when they feel it will show off the best of their wines. This is a Pinot Noir dominated blend giving the wine backbone and a lovely toasty yeasty style that is finished off with a lovely dash of citrus fruit. At this price it is an absolute steal, it works well with food being a fine match for smoked salmon. I can’t recommend it enough.
