When Bollinger decided to make a non vintage Rose wine only a few years ago they decided that it should be recognisably a Bollinger wine, one that the loyal fans of the Bollinger style would recognise and enjoy. A philosophy that not all Bollinger’s competitors follow with their own Rose Champagnes.

Bollinger non vintage Rose is made from the same blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier as their much loved Special Cuvee the only difference being the addition of a small amount of a local red wine that gives the lovely colour and the scent of summer pudding.

Bollinger today remains one of the few family owned Grand Marque Champagnes and having worked for them for over 10 years I can attest to the attention to detail that has kept them at the very top of the Champagne world. They are however a relatively small producer making little more than 2.5 million bottles in total which is put into simple perspective by Moet & Chandon’s 30 million bottles.
