Ampakama is the indigenous people of Argentina's word for 'no mans land'.  An area of semi desert in San Juan that is the home of this family owned winery. This Malbec is all you would want of an Argentine classic, it is deep dark purple in colour with a lush sensual aroma of dark fruits and spices. It is a 'chocolate mocha mess of a wine' to quote a friend of mine who was most taken with it.  It has lovely soft tanins and is drinking very well at the moment.
