Micro Wine Bar comes to Howden

Posted on 28th Oct 2015 @ 11:01 AM

Howden has a successful Micro Pub so we thought why not convert the shop into a Micro Wine Bar? Which is just what we are now doing on Friday evenings in the run up until Christmas. We clear the decks, lower the lights bring in a few tables and chairs, light some candles and offer a small selection of wines by the glass.

We also offer anyone of the over 350 bottles of wine in the shop for a very reasonable corkage fee of £5 and a different small batched distilled Gin each week along with Fevertree tonics.

Feeling peckish there are a few nibbles and a simple platter to share of warmed pitta bread, houmous, dips and olives.  We are the perfect venue for a couple of drinks before popping to one of Howden's excellent eateries such as Jamil Spice, Jay Jays or the Golden Cottage

The Wine Bar is set up by 4pm on Fridays and we serve until 10pm. The shop also remains open during this time so you can just pop in to get a bottle if you have run out.

It's been great fun over the first few weeks and much enjoyed by those who have popped in with the conversation flowing easily between tables.
